Ib lost his father at age three and, by fourteen, the remaining father figures he looked up to were gone—some taken by war. Even before becoming a refugee, he endured bullying that chipped away at his confidence. Later, as a teen displaced by conflict, he faced deeper isolation—compounded by undiagnosed hearing loss that silenced him in ways no one could see.
But adversity didn’t define him—it refined him. From refugee to global journalist, and later a global IT leader with one of the world’s most trusted large nonprofit organizations, Ib’s journey now fuels his mission. His purpose: to help people rise—through quiet struggles, beyond limitation, and through times of change—into a life of resilience, clarity, and impact..
